The biggest US shopping events in the next 12 months are Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days (October 6-7, 2026), Black Friday (November 27, 2026) and Cyber Monday (November 30, 2026). After those come January clearance, the Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend sales, and summer events such as Prime Day and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The calendar below goes month by month from October 2026 to September 2027. It covers what usually goes on sale and which of the stores we track are known for each event.

Fall and holiday 2026 highlights
October: Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days
Two big sales start the holiday season on the same days. Amazon‘s Prime Big Deal Days runs October 6-7, 2026, for Prime members, and new deals drop several times a day. Target‘s fall Circle Deal Days also runs October 6-7, and Circle 360 members can shop early on October 5. Because both happen at once, you can compare prices directly. Other October events in our data: Skechers Member Appreciation Month runs through October 31, 2026. DSW usually holds fall savings events on boots and loafers in September and October. American Eagle usually has fall clearance and early holiday offers in October. Apple often updates its Mac and iPad lines in October and November.
November: Black Friday and Cyber Monday
Most stores we track describe Black Friday and Cyber Monday as their biggest or deepest sale of the year. In 2026, Black Friday is November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30. Some retailers start earlier. Best Buy, Dell and Lenovo often begin in early November, and Walmart usually runs several waves of deals with Walmart+ early access. Keep in mind that some policies change during these sales. Kohl’s doesn’t give price adjustments during Black Friday week, HP‘s Black Friday and Cyber Week deals are excluded from price protection, and Levi’s ID discounts don’t stack with its Black Friday promotions. Travel sites, including Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com and Priceline, usually run their biggest campaigns in this window, often for stays in the following year. December: gifts, then clearance
December brings gift sets, value sets and weekly deals. Bath & Body Works usually holds Candle Day in December, and beauty brands such as Clinique, Estée Lauder and Kiehl’s release holiday gift sets. Several stores extend return windows for holiday purchases as of September 2026. Walmart purchases from October 1 to December 31 can be returned through January 31, and Gap purchases from October 15 to December 24 can be returned through January 15. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are strong for almost every store, so the table only mentions them where the store’s data points out something specific.

When to buy by category
Electronics and computers
- TVs and monitors: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Samsung says they’re typically its lowest TV and monitor prices of the year.
- Laptops: Back to school (July-September) at Dell, Lenovo, HP and Best Buy, especially if you qualify for education pricing, then again at Black Friday.
- Phones and Apple devices: Older models often drop in price after the September launches. For its Black Friday event, Apple usually offers gift cards with eligible purchases instead of direct discounts. See our student discounts page.
- PC parts: Newegg‘s FantasTech sales and new hardware launches, when previous-generation CPUs and GPUs often get cheaper.
Apparel and shoes
- Clearance: January and late summer, when stores switch seasons.
- Kids’ clothes and basics: Back to school, plus Carter’s around Labor Day and Old Navy around the Fourth of July.
- Outerwear: Black Friday for jackets and fleece at Columbia and The North Face, or wait for January-February markdowns.
- Running shoes: When a new version launches, the previous model often goes on sale at HOKA and New Balance.
Home, furniture and appliances
- Appliances: Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day at Best Buy, Lowe’s, The Home Depot and Samsung.

- Holiday decor: Buy early for selection or after the holidays for the lowest prices.
Travel
- Black Friday through Travel Tuesday (December 1, 2026) is usually the biggest promotional window at Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com and Priceline.
- January-February brings early-year sales for spring and summer trips.
- Shoulder seasons and midweek stays usually cost less than holidays and school breaks. If you book a refundable rate early, you can check the price again later.
Beauty
- Plan around Sephora‘s spring and fall Savings Events and Ulta‘s 21 Days of Beauty. Buy holiday value sets from November onward, and use your birthday-month rewards.
How to use this calendar
- Keep a list with price limits. Decide what you’ll pay before an event, so the event doesn’t decide for you.
- Check price protection before you buy early. For example, the Microsoft Store offers 60-day price protection on qualifying items, but some stores limit adjustments around Black Friday. HP excludes Black Friday and Cyber Week sales from price protection, and Kohl’s and Levi’s don’t give price adjustments during those sales. See our price match guide.
