Allbirds shopping guide: how to save more

Guide last reviewed: September 2026

How to save at Allbirds: the smartest ways

1. Build your cart past $100. Ground shipping is free on orders over $100, so a second pair of socks or a tee can cost less than paying for shipping.
2. Verify with GovX if you qualify. Healthcare workers, military members and government employees can get a single-use code for 15% off through the Allbirds community offers page.
3. Use the referral program. If a friend already owns Allbirds, ask for their referral link. You each get $15 off a purchase of $100 or more.
4. Sign up for emails before your first order. Allbirds offers a first-order discount on full-price items to new email subscribers. It does not apply to sale items, so use it on full-price shoes.
5. Check the sale shoes collections. The men's sale and women's sale pages carry last-chance styles and colors.
6. Pick one discount. Allbirds says discounts cannot be used together with other offers, so compare your options and apply the one that saves the most on that order.
7. Think about return coverage. Return shipping is normally on you. If you are unsure about sizing, the optional return coverage at checkout includes a free return label and may be cheaper than paying for a label later.
8. Look at Allbirds ReRun for pre-owned pairs. ReRun is the official Allbirds resale shop for previously owned shoes, which Allbirds describes as being in like-new condition. It is a way to get a familiar model while keeping shoes out of landfill; compare prices with the sale section before you buy.
9. Be careful with final sale. Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged, so read the size guide before buying from the final sale collections.

Shipping & delivery

As of September 2026, Allbirds offers free ground shipping on orders over $100 in the US. A notice on the site says that, due to increased demand, orders may take up to 30 days to ship, so order well ahead if you need shoes by a certain date. Shipping costs for orders under $100 and faster shipping options are shown at checkout. Details are on the Allbirds shopping info page.

Return & exchange policy

You can return or exchange items within 30 days from the date your order was delivered. Items need to be unworn and unwashed with the original tags attached, and socks, underwear and accessories need to be in unopened packaging. Gifts can be returned within the same 30-day window.

• Return shipping is paid by the customer unless you bought return coverage at checkout, which includes a free return label.
• Paid shipping fees are not refunded.
• Refunds go back to the original form of payment only.
• Gift cards, insoles and items tagged final sale cannot be returned.
• Returns and exchanges are limited to the country where you bought the item.
• Allbirds states that rejected returns are non-refundable and forfeited, so check the condition rules before sending anything back.

Rewards & membership

We did not find a points-based loyalty program on the Allbirds site as of September 2026. The main repeat-customer perk is the refer-a-friend program: you and the friend you refer each get $15 off your next purchase of $100 or more. Email subscribers also get news about new colors and sales.

Student, military, teacher & other discounts

Allbirds lists one community discount: 15% off for healthcare workers, military personnel and government employees. You verify through GovX and then receive a single-use promo code. The code works on the US website only, is limited to one per year and cannot be combined with other codes.

We did not find a student or teacher discount on the official site as of September 2026.

Price matching & price adjustments

We did not find a price match or price adjustment policy on the Allbirds site. The terms say Allbirds can correct pricing errors and cancel orders affected by them. If a style you bought goes on sale, contact Allbirds customer support to ask, but do not count on an adjustment.

Payment options

Allbirds uses third-party payment processors at checkout, but the policy pages we reviewed do not list specific payment methods. Check at checkout to see which cards, wallets or buy-now-pay-later options are available for your order. Gift cards are sold but are final sale.

When Allbirds has its biggest sales

Allbirds does not publish a sale calendar. Its sale collections are ongoing and carry discontinued styles and colors, and new markdowns appear as colors rotate out. Big retail shopping periods such as the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend and end-of-season clearouts are worth watching, and email subscribers are usually the first to hear about new sales. Since sale stock is limited, popular sizes can sell out quickly.

A practical approach: decide which model and size you want at full price, then check the sale collections every week or two. If the color you want is not discounted, a first-order email discount (for new customers), a referral credit or the GovX discount (if you qualify) are the most reliable ways to pay less on current styles.

How to use an Allbirds promo code

1. Add your items to the cart and continue to checkout.
2. Enter your promo code in the discount code field during checkout. Allbirds says codes must be entered at checkout to be valid.
3. Apply the code and confirm the discount appears before you pay. Discounts and thresholds are calculated before taxes and shipping.
4. If a code is not accepted, check whether your cart has sale items (the first-order offer excludes them) or whether you already applied another discount, since offers cannot be combined.
