American Girl Coupons & Promo Codes for October 2026

American Girl shopping guide: how to save more

At a glance

American Girl sells 18-inch dolls, doll clothes and accessories, furniture and playsets, books, toddler toys and matching outfits for kids. The brand runs its own website plus a small number of US retail stores, and most savings come from site-wide sales, the Last Chance Outlet and the free AG Rewards program. Here is a quick summary of the store's policies as of September 2026.

Best ways to save at American Girl

• Shop the current sale. American Girl regularly runs limited-time sales on its promotions page. In late September 2026 the site listed 20% off hundreds of select favorites, including select dolls, with a maximum discount of $60, applied automatically at checkout.
• Check the Last Chance Outlet. The outlet offers up to 75% off select retiring items while supplies last. Quantities are limited and every outlet purchase is final sale, so check sizes and details before you buy.
• Join AG Rewards before you check out. Points add up to reward dollars, and members get exclusive bonus-point events such as double points on books.
• Plan bigger orders around the free shipping line. Standard shipping is free at $175, so bundling a doll with accessories or a gift can erase a $14 to $19 shipping charge.
• Browse category sale pages. The site keeps sale collections, such as sale items for toddlers, that make it easy to see what is marked down in one place.

Shipping

American Girl ships to the United States and Canada only. As of September 2026, US standard shipping costs $9 on orders under $65, $14 on orders from $65.01 to $105, and $19 on orders from $105.01 to $174.99. Orders of $175 or more ship free by standard delivery. Oversized items carry a $25 charge. Faster and fastest rush options are available at higher rates, and processing starts the first business day after you order.

Most packages ship by Priority Mail, and a larger order may arrive in more than one box. The company delivers to PO boxes, military addresses, US territories, Alaska and Hawaii. Canadian orders pay standard rates in a similar tiered structure, qualify for free shipping at $175, and may owe customs duties at delivery.

Returns and exchanges

You have 90 days from purchase to return or exchange items for a refund or merchandise credit. You can bring items to any American Girl retail store or mail them to the returns department in DeForest, Wisconsin. If you use the prepaid label, $6.95 is deducted from your refund; you can also ship with your own carrier at your own cost.

A few items cannot be refunded: Create Your Own dolls and garments, dolls with pierced ears, shipping fees, final-sale items and anything bought in the Last Chance Outlet. Janie and Jack collection items have their own 30-day window. If the purchase cannot be verified, you will get merchandise credit instead of a refund. Only items bought directly from American Girl can be returned to American Girl.

AG Rewards program

AG Rewards is free to join. Members earn points on purchases and receive $10 in rewards for every 200 points. The program has three tiers, Silver, Gold and Berry, and higher tiers earn points faster. According to the site's FAQ, Silver members earn one point per dollar, Gold members earn 1.25 and Berry members earn 1.5.

Members also get bonus-point promotions. Through September 30, 2026, for example, signed-in members could earn double their tier's points on books, once per account, online and in US stores. It is worth signing in before every order so your points are counted.

Special discounts

American Girl does not publish a student, teacher or first-responder discount as of September 2026. Its FAQ does say that a military discount is handled through a promotion code you request by calling customer service at 800-845-0005, so call before you order if you qualify.

Email sign-up

Signing up for American Girl emails gets you news about special promotions, new product launches and retail store announcements. The sign-up page does not promise a specific welcome discount, so treat it as a way to hear about sales early rather than a guaranteed coupon.

Price match and price adjustments

American Girl does not publish a price match or price adjustment policy. Its FAQ states that special offers and discounts cannot be applied to previous purchases, so if an item goes on sale after you buy it, you should not expect an automatic adjustment.

Payment options

The store accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Klarna, merchandise credits and American Girl gift cards. Shop Pay lets you split a purchase into four interest-free payments, and Klarna offers its own pay-later options at checkout. Digital gift cards are sold online and physical cards are sold by phone and in stores; gift cards have no dormancy fees but cannot buy other gift cards.

Sale calendar

American Girl runs rotating seasonal events rather than a fixed schedule. Recent sale collections on the site include a spring sale, a Labor Day sale with tiered savings, flash sales on select collector dolls and the ongoing Last Chance Outlet. Holiday shopping season is the busiest time for new promotions, so watch the promotions page from November onward. We do not list dates the retailer has not announced.

How to use a promo code at American Girl

• Add your items to the bag and sign in to your AG Rewards account.
• Open the bag or go to checkout and look for the promo code field.
• Enter the code exactly as written and apply it before paying.
• Confirm that the discount appears in your order summary.

Many American Girl sales need no code at all because the discount is applied automatically. If a code does not work, check the offer's exclusions, maximum discount and end date on the promotions page.
