ASOS shopping guide: how to save more

ASOS at a glance

ASOS carries a huge range of styles at prices that are already competitive, so the key to saving is knowing which of its programs actually apply to you. The US site has a strong student discount, a large sale section and a low-cost shipping membership. This guide covers each one as of September 2026.

Best ways to save at ASOS

• Verify as a student. ASOS gives 10% off to students aged 16 and over in full-time or part-time education, including high school, college, university and apprenticeships. It can be used repeatedly while you study.
• Shop the sale. The ASOS US women’s and men’s sale sections advertise savings of up to 80% on ASOS DESIGN and brand-name styles.
• Buy ASOS Premier if you order often. For a small annual fee, Premier removes most shipping charges for a year.
• Sign in before you shop. Returns are free for ASOS account holders but cost $4.95 for guest orders, and many codes are locked to your account.
• Follow ASOS channels. ASOS says it shares promo codes on its homepage, in newsletters and on its social accounts such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
• Use Fit Assistant. Getting the size right the first time avoids return hassles and keeps your return rate low, which matters under the fair use policy.

Shipping

As of September 2026, ASOS’s US help pages list standard shipping at $10 with delivery in about 5 to 8 business days, or up to 14 business days for Alaska and Hawaii. Express shipping costs $14.99 and takes about 3 to 4 business days, with Saturday delivery in some areas. PO boxes and APO and FPO addresses are supported for standard shipping. Exact options and cut-off times depend on your zip code, which you can check at checkout.

ASOS Premier

ASOS Premier is a yearly membership for the US site. The shipping help page lists it at $19.99 a year, with free standard shipping on orders of $20 or more and free express shipping on orders of $50 or more, measured after discounts. Where available, next-day delivery can also be free when you meet the $50 minimum. Premier is tied to the country site where you bought it, so a US membership does not work on other ASOS sites. If you place more than two shipped orders a year, it usually pays for itself.

Returns

You have 28 days from delivery to start a return from the US. Account holders can create a return under My Orders, choose a UPS drop-off point and use a QR code or printable label, and the return is free. Guest orders are charged a $4.95 returns fee, deducted from the refund. Refunds can take up to 10 business days after processing to appear, depending on your bank. ASOS also has a fair use policy: if your return rate is 70% or higher across 3 or more orders in 12 months, a $4.95 deduction may apply to each returned parcel, with an extra handling fee at 80% or higher across 5 or more orders. Faulty or incorrect items are always free to return.

Student discount

To get the ASOS student discount, sign in to your ASOS account, open the student validation page, and verify your enrollment through SheerID by choosing your country and school. You may need to log in with your school account or upload a document. Once approved, you receive a code by email that is locked to your account. According to the student terms, the discount cannot be combined with other offers, does not apply to delivery charges, gift cards, Premier or items from ASOS Brand Partners, and has a monthly spend cap. ASOS also works with UNiDAYS and Student Beans.

Other special discounts

ASOS does not advertise military, teacher or first-responder discounts on its US site. Birthday codes are tied to ASOS.WORLD membership where that program is available. There is no price-match policy, so the sale section and student discount are the main ways to lower prices.

Payment options

ASOS US accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and Maestro cards, along with PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Afterpay and Klarna let you split a purchase into installments; these may involve a soft credit check. ASOS E-Gift Cards can be redeemed only in the currency and country where they were bought.

Sale calendar

• Year-round: a permanent sale section with rotating markdowns.
• End of season: bigger sale drops when summer and winter collections change over.
• Shopping events: ASOS typically runs promotions around Black Friday and the holiday season, announced on its homepage and in newsletters.

How to use an ASOS promo code

• Sign in to your ASOS account and add items to your bag.
• At checkout, find the Promo/Student code box.
• Enter the code exactly as given, with no spaces, and select Apply Code.
• Check that the discount shows in your order total before you pay.

Only one promo code, including shipping offers, can be used per order, and codes cannot be added after an order is placed. Codes do not apply to shipping fees, E-Gift Cards or ASOS Brand Partner items.
