Cloudflare is different from most hosts: it publishes flat prices rather than low introductory rates. As of September 2026, the official plans page lists:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Pro | $20/mo | $25/mo |
| Business | $200/mo | $250/mo |
| Enterprise | Custom | Billed annually |
Many web hosts charge a low first-term price and much more on renewal. Cloudflare does not advertise that model for these plans, and Registrar domains renew at cost with no markup. Registry prices themselves can change, so the at-cost amount you pay may move with the registry's list price.
Which plan fits? The Free plan is aimed at personal or hobby projects that are not business-critical. Pro targets professional websites that are not business-critical, Business is for small businesses operating online and adds a 100% uptime SLA with service credits, and Enterprise is for mission-critical applications with custom pricing.
For most personal sites and blogs, the Free plan is enough, because DNS, CDN, DDoS protection and SSL are the features that matter most for speed and security. A growing business site that sells online should compare Pro and Business: Pro adds lossless image optimization and Accelerated Mobile Pages, while Business adds PCI DSS 4.0 compliance and the uptime SLA. If you pay yearly, Pro costs $240 a year instead of $300, and Business costs $2,400 instead of $3,000, so annual billing saves 20% on either plan. Developers building apps can stay on the Workers free plan while traffic is low and move to the $5 Paid plan later.
Cloudflare does not advertise a money-back guarantee on its plans pages. For Registrar, its documentation says renewals are final and no refunds are issued, because fees go directly to the registries once the transaction completes. Double-check domain spelling and auto-renew settings before you confirm a purchase.
Annual billing is the main term-based saving: it lowers Pro from $25 to $20 a month and Business from $250 to $200 a month. For domains, transferring to Cloudflare Registrar usually adds one year to the registration at cost. The exceptions are .uk and .nz domains, which do not receive the extra year, and transfers within 45 days of renewal. Note that all Registrar domains must use Cloudflare nameservers; third-party nameservers are not permitted.
Cloudflare runs Project Galileo, which provides free protection equivalent to its Business plan to eligible organizations working in human rights, civil society, journalism or democracy. Applicants must be public-interest nonprofits with a live website that are vulnerable to cyberattacks, and they apply through a partner organization or a contact form. We did not find a general student discount on the official site.
Cloudflare Registrar uses the primary payment method on your account for transactions. Check the billing section of your dashboard for the payment types available to you.
Cloudflare does not advertise seasonal sales or coupon codes for its core plans and Registrar; prices are published on its plans page and domains are sold at cost. That means there is no need to wait for Black Friday. The best time to buy is when you need the features, and the easiest saving is choosing annual billing.
For domains, plan your transfer timing: Cloudflare notes that transfers within 45 days of a renewal do not add the extra year, so check your current renewal date before you start the move.
