HOKA shopping guide: how to save more

Guide last reviewed: September 2026

How to save at HOKA: the smartest ways

1. Become a member before you buy. As of September 2026, HOKA Membership is free and gives you 10% off your next purchase just for signing up, plus 60-day returns instead of 30.
2. Verify with ID.me for 15% off. Nurses, doctors, first responders, teachers, students, active duty military and veterans can get 15% off at checkout after verifying through ID.me.
3. Healthcare specialists get 25% off. Chiropractors, physical and occupational therapists, podiatrists, orthopedic physicians and athletic trainers qualify for a higher 25% discount through the same program.
4. Know the limits. Discount program savings are limited to 6 redemptions per year per person, are online only, cannot be combined with other offers, and exclude sale items and collaborations.
5. Shop the sale section for last season’s colors. The HOKA sale page had 89 items during our review, mostly at 20% off, with select styles such as the Skyflow and Speedgoat 6 Mid GTX at 30% off.
6. Time your purchase around new model launches. When a new version of a popular shoe arrives, previous colorways often move to sale. Sale sizes go fast, so act quickly when your size appears.
7. Use your birthday reward. HOKA members receive birthday rewards, so make sure your profile is complete.
8. Try shoes risk free. Thanks to the Fly for 30 guarantee, you can return shoes within 30 days (60 for members) for a full refund or exchange, which makes it safer to try a new model at full price rather than settling for the wrong shoe on sale.

Shipping & delivery options

HOKA advertises free shipping on hoka.com as part of its free shipping and returns guarantee, and members also list free shipping among their benefits. Faster shipping options, their costs and estimated delivery dates are shown at checkout based on your address. As of September 2026 we could not confirm a published list of shipping speeds, so check the options at checkout if you need shoes by a race or event date. You can track orders from the order status page linked in the site footer.

Return & exchange policy

HOKA’s return policy is built around its Fly for 30 guarantee, which it describes as a no matter what guarantee: if you are not totally satisfied, send your shoes back within 30 days of the original purchase for a full refund or a product exchange, with no questions asked. HOKA members get an extended 60-day return window. Returns and exchanges are started online from HOKA’s returns page.

HOKA reserves the right to verify customer information, require proof of purchase and deny guarantee requests if it determines a customer is abusing the guarantee. Keep your order confirmation handy when you start a return, and note your purchase date so you stay inside the 30-day or 60-day window.

HOKA Membership explained

HOKA Membership is free for anyone 13 or older. As of September 2026, the membership page lists these benefits:

• 10% off your next purchase just for signing up.
• Free shipping.
• 60-day returns.
• Birthday rewards.
• Perks earned through purchases and activities, including member challenges.
• Exclusive perks, member-only products and experiences, priority access to events, and early notice of new collections and sales.

For most shoppers, the sign-up discount and the doubled return window alone make membership worthwhile.

Student, military, teacher & other discounts

HOKA’s discount programs cover a wide range of groups. Nurses, medical professionals, first responders, teachers, students, active duty military and veterans get 15% off. Healthcare specialists, including chiropractors, physical and occupational therapists, podiatrists, orthopedic physicians and athletic trainers, get 25% off. Verify through ID.me at checkout; the discount applies automatically once you are verified. Limits: 6 redemptions per year per individual, online only, not combinable with other offers, and sale items and collaborations are excluded. HOKA also runs a separate Pro Deal program for eligible industry professionals.

Price matching & price adjustments

HOKA does not publish a price match or price adjustment policy. If a shoe you bought drops in price, the 30-day (or 60-day for members) return window gives you room to return it and reorder at the lower price if your size is available.

Payment options

HOKA sells gift cards that can be used on hoka.com, and you can check a gift card balance from the site footer. The full list of accepted payment methods is shown at checkout.

When HOKA has its biggest sales

• New model launches: the previous version of shoes like the Clifton, Bondi or Speedgoat often moves to the sale section.
• Seasonal color changes: older colorways are marked down as new ones arrive.
• Black Friday and Cyber Monday: historically a good window for running shoe deals.
• Your birthday: member birthday rewards.

HOKA sale discounts are usually modest (about 20% to 30% during our review), so the member sign-up discount or a 15% to 25% discount program on full-price shoes can be just as good.

How to use a HOKA promo code

1. Sign in to your HOKA Membership account so member benefits apply.
2. Add your shoes or gear to the cart and go to checkout.
3. Enter your welcome code in the promo code field, or select the ID.me button to verify for a discount program.
4. Confirm the discount before placing your order. Discounts cannot be combined, so use the one that saves the most.
