HubSpot is not a typical online store. You are buying software subscriptions, so the best savings come from choosing the right plan, the right billing term and any program you qualify for, rather than from a printed checkout code.
HubSpot for Startups is the company’s official program for young companies, and joining it is free. According to the program page, startups that have raised Pre-seed, Seed or Series A funding (but not Series B or later) and are affiliated with an approved HubSpot partner or have verified venture funding can receive 90% off in year one, 50% off in year two and 25% off in year three. Startups connected with one of HubSpot’s approved entrepreneurial organizations can instead receive 30% off the first year and 15% off the second year.
Both tiers apply to Professional or Enterprise products and require an annual commitment. HubSpot also runs a Bootstrap Program offering 30% off paid tools for the first year, but it is aimed at bootstrapped tech startups incorporated in Latin America, Asia or Africa, so most US businesses will not qualify for that one.
Eligible nonprofits can save 40% on current list prices of Professional or Enterprise tier products. HubSpot’s nonprofit page says the organization must be located and registered as a nonprofit in North America, Australia or New Zealand, must be a new HubSpot customer for the products in question, and must sign an annual contract. Starter tier products and certain limit increases are excluded, and the offer cannot be combined with any other discount.
The free plan has no time limit, which makes it the lowest-risk way to evaluate HubSpot. When you want to test paid features, open your account name in the top right corner, choose Pricing & Features, and start a free 14-day trial under the subscription you want to try. Trials end on their own after 14 days. Plan your evaluation carefully, since you generally get one trial per product.
HubSpot shows two prices for many plans: one for paying annually and a higher one for paying monthly. If you are confident the software fits your team, the annual commitment is the cheaper route. If you are still testing, monthly billing keeps you flexible at a higher per-seat cost. Professional and Enterprise plans also carry one-time onboarding fees, so factor those in when you compare the true first-year cost.
HubSpot subscriptions renew automatically. Its knowledge base explains that you can turn off auto-renewal for a subscription from your account and points to separate instructions for downgrading or cancelling. We could not confirm a general refund policy on HubSpot’s site, so read your order terms before you commit to an annual contract.
Billing is handled inside your HubSpot account, where you can view, download and pay invoices and update your payment method. HubSpot’s pages we reviewed did not list every accepted payment type, so check the billing screen in your account for the options available to you. Prices are subject to applicable tax.
HubSpot does not run a retail-style sale calendar with seasonal events. Instead, it publishes limited-time pricing promotions, such as the current Starter discount, and standing programs for startups and nonprofits. Because promotions are labeled as limited time without a published end date, it is worth checking the pricing page again just before you buy.
HubSpot does not usually publish promo codes on its own site. Discounts are typically applied automatically at the advertised price, through a program application, or through a partner or sales representative. If you do receive a code directly from HubSpot or one of its partners, follow these steps:
If no code field appears, the discount is probably applied automatically or must be added by a HubSpot sales rep. Codes found on third-party sites may not be valid, so rely on offers shown on hubspot.com.
HubSpot is a Cambridge, Massachusetts software company that makes a customer platform covering CRM, marketing, sales, customer service and content tools. It offers free tools alongside paid Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans billed per seat. Businesses of all sizes use it to manage contacts, run email campaigns and track deals.
