How to save at LEGO: the smartest ways

LEGO.com rarely runs big sitewide percentage discounts, so savings there look different from most stores. As of September 2026, these are the tactics that add real value:

1. Join LEGO Insiders before your first order. It's free. US members earn 6.5 points per $1, and 650 points are worth $5 off, which works out to about 5% back.
2. Wait for double points. LEGO periodically doubles Insiders points on purchases, which effectively doubles your return. The events are announced in the Insiders newsletter.
3. Stack a gift with purchase. LEGO often adds a free set or item when you spend over a set amount. Timing a big order to a GWP event gets you more for your money.
4. Redeem points in small amounts. Since late 2024, points can be redeemed for small discounts at checkout, starting from about $1 off.
5. Use the updated Rewards Center. Since August 18, 2026, you can add eligible physical rewards straight to your bag, up to three per order, with no separate code step.
6. Get your order to $35. Standard shipping is free at $35 or more, so a small add-on can cost less than the shipping fee.
7. Buy discounted LEGO gift cards when you see them. Grocery and gift card promotions sometimes sell LEGO gift cards below face value, and you can use them on LEGO.com.
8. Compare retailers on older sets. Big retailers often discount sets that LEGO.com sells at full price, while LEGO.com is often the only place to get exclusives.

Shipping & delivery options

As of September 2026, LEGO.com US shipping is:

Standard delivery takes 3-5 business days, plus up to 3 days for rural areas. In-stock orders placed by noon ET on a weekday usually ship the next business day. Next-day delivery costs $14.95-$49.95 depending on your order value, with a surcharge for Alaska and Hawaii. You can also ship to a UPS Access Point and pick up within 7 days, though size limits may apply.

Return & exchange policy

• Window: 90 days from when you receive your order.
• Unopened items: free returns with a prepaid label. Refunds go to your original payment method within 14 business days of LEGO receiving the return.
• Opened items: contact Customer Service. These are usually credited as a LEGO gift card or exchanged, not refunded.
• In-store returns: LEGO Stores accept unopened sets under $200 with the packing list or receipt. They don't accept opened items or clothing.
• Not returnable: gift cards, Pick a Brick orders, and customized Minifigure Factory or Create a Minifigure orders.

Items bought from LEGO Certified Stores have to go back to the store you bought them from.

LEGO Insiders rewards explained

LEGO Insiders, formerly LEGO VIP, is LEGO's free loyalty program. It has no paid tiers.

• Earning: 6.5 points per $1 spent on LEGO.com and at LEGO Stores. You earn on what you actually pay after discounts. Online, points post after your order ships.
• Value: 650 points equal a $5 discount in the US.
• Using points: checkout discounts, exclusive sets and items, digital downloads, event tickets and members-only sweepstakes.
• In stores: show your digital Insiders card to earn points and use rewards. Points can't be transferred.

Student, military, teacher, senior & other discounts

As of September 2026, LEGO.com doesn't offer an official student, military, teacher or senior discount in the US. Some student deal sites list LEGO "offers," but these are usually the same free shipping and gift-with-purchase promotions available to everyone. The most dependable extras are Insiders points, double-points events and gifts with purchase.

Price matching & price adjustments

LEGO doesn't publish a price-match or price-adjustment policy for LEGO.com. If you find a set cheaper at another retailer, it usually makes sense to buy it there. Buy from LEGO.com when you want exclusives, Insiders points or a gift with purchase.

Payment options

LEGO.com US accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and UnionPay cards, plus PayPal (including PayPal Pay in 4), Apple Pay and Klarna where available. LEGO gift cards work too. Large Pick a Brick orders may need to be paid by Visa, Mastercard or American Express through a secure link, and purchase orders aren't accepted.

Common exclusions: codes usually don't apply to gift cards, Pick a Brick, some exclusive or limited sets, or orders from LEGO Certified Stores. Gifts with purchase are limited to stock on hand and usually one per order.
