Name.com also notes that prices vary by individual domain name, and premium domains are priced differently. For hosting plans, check the renewal price shown in the cart before you pay.

A simple way to compare offers is to add up the first two years instead of looking at year one alone. For example, using the listed prices, a .com costs .99 plus a .99 renewal, while a .live costs .99 plus a .99 renewal, so the cheaper-looking extension ends up costing more by the end of year two. Run the same quick check for any sale extension before you commit, and keep auto-renew turned on for domains you rely on so you never lose a name to an accidental expiry.

Name.com's hosting cancellation article says hosting can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. If your hosting came with a complimentary domain, the domain's cost is deducted from the hosting refund so you can keep the domain.
