How to save at New Balance: the smartest ways

1. Join the free membership before you check out. As of September 2026, membership costs nothing and unlocks free standard shipping on every order plus free return labels, which alone can save $9.95 on shipping and $5 on a mailed return.
2. Watch for Member Days. New Balance runs members-only events; the most recent one (September 18 to 23, 2026) offered up to 25% off select styles online and in participating stores. Members had to be logged in to redeem online.
3. Verify with ID.me if you qualify. Teachers, hospital and medical employees, nurses, first responders, military members, government employees and seniors 60+ can get 15% off with a unique code after verification. Exclusions apply.
4. Shop the sale section by price. The New Balance sale page has "Under $50" and "Under $100" clearance filters, which make it easy to find markdowns in your budget.
5. Sign up for emails. New Balance says email sign-up brings a discount on your next purchase; check the sign-up form for the current amount.
6. Use your birthday offer. Members receive a special offer during their birthday, so add your birth date to your account profile.
7. Look for gifts with purchase. During our review, the membership page listed a free graphic tote with online purchases of $200 or more and free socks with $150+ at select stores. These change, so check before you buy.

Shipping & delivery options

As of September 2026, New Balance ships in-stock orders after processing within about 2 business days. Options listed on its shipping page include:

Return & exchange policy

New Balance accepts returns within 45 days of shipment for online orders (or of purchase for in-store orders). Items should be in new condition; worn or damaged merchandise can be refused, and final-sale items are not returnable. Returns in store are free and refunded immediately. Members get a free return shipping label online, while non-members have a $5 fee deducted from the refund for mailed returns. Shipped returns can take up to 14 days after receipt to process.

Members also get access to member-exclusive colorways of popular models. It is not a points program, so the value comes from free shipping, free returns and member pricing events.

Student, military, teacher & other discounts

New Balance offers 15% off to teachers, hospital employees, medical employees, nurses, first responders, military members, government employees and seniors aged 60 and over. You verify your status through ID.me and receive a unique promo code. Exclusions apply, and the code usually cannot be combined with other promotions. We did not find a separate student discount program published on the site during our review.

Price matching & price adjustments

New Balance does not publish a price match or price adjustment policy in its FAQs. If an item drops in price shortly after you buy, contact customer care to ask, but do not count on an adjustment. Because returns are free for members within 45 days, some shoppers return and repurchase at the lower price when the item is still in stock.

Payment options
