Newegg shopping guide: how to save more

How to save at Newegg: the smartest ways

Newegg is a tech-focused retailer and marketplace, so the best savings come from comparing sellers, stacking rewards and buying during its big tech events. The most effective tactics as of September 2026:

1. Join Newegg+ for free. The membership costs nothing and adds free standard shipping on a wide selection of items, member-only discount codes, early access to deals and 10% off product warranties.
2. Collect EggPoints. Items with an EggPoints badge earn at least 1 point per dollar, and every 100 points takes $1 off a future order. You need to be signed in; guest orders don't earn points.
3. Prefer "Sold and Shipped by Newegg." These listings qualify for Newegg's own price match and its no-restocking-fee return terms, which marketplace listings may not.
4. Check for mail-in rebates. Components such as power supplies, storage and graphics cards often carry manufacturer rebates. Keep the box and receipt, but note that cutting out the UPC can make an item non-returnable.
5. Look at combo deals. Newegg bundles CPUs, motherboards and memory, or builds with games and accessories, often for less than buying each part separately.
6. Consider open-box and refurbished items. They can save a lot, but they are commonly excluded from price matching and may have stricter return terms.
7. Request a price match after a drop. If Newegg lowers the price of an eligible item within 7 days of your purchase, contact customer service for the difference.
8. Shop FantasTech and Black Friday. Newegg's own sales events bring its deepest discounts on PC parts, monitors and laptops.
9. Spread large purchases over time. Affirm financing or the Newegg store card can make a big build more manageable, but compare interest costs before you commit.

Shipping & delivery options

Newegg doesn't publish a single sitewide free shipping minimum. Instead, many products show free shipping right on the listing, and paid expedited options appear at checkout. Newegg+ members get free standard shipping on a wide selection of items delivered in the contiguous U.S. and D.C. (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are excluded from that benefit).

Marketplace sellers set their own shipping speeds and fees, so check who ships the item before you add it to your cart. Newegg is primarily an online retailer, so plan on home or business delivery rather than in-store pickup.

Return & exchange policy

Newegg's return rules depend on the product, so always check the return policy shown on the item page before you buy. Many products can be returned within 30 days, while some categories carry shorter windows, replacement-only terms or no returns at all.

• Restocking fees: For items sold and shipped by Newegg, its help center states that no restocking fees are charged regardless of the return reason.
• Return shipping: Prepaid labels are available at no cost for eligible items up to 50 lbs when you create the return. Military (APO/FPO/DPO) addresses aren't eligible for labels.
• Typically non-returnable: Digital products, software and game codes, and certain consumables. Open-box items can also be final sale.
• Marketplace items: Third-party sellers set their own policies; you request the return through Newegg but ship it to the seller.

EggPoints & Newegg+ membership explained

Newegg+ is a free, single-tier membership. Opt in from your account settings to get free standard shipping on eligible items, member-only discount codes, early access to deals and launches, 10% off product warranties, expedited return processing on eligible items and a dedicated support line. You can cancel anytime.

EggPoints are Newegg's rewards currency:

• Earn 1 point per dollar (sometimes more) on items with the EggPoints badge.
• Points become usable 30 days after you earn them.
• Every 100 points equals $1 off, applied in your cart.
• Points expire 90 days after they become usable, but earning new points extends the window.

Newegg also offers a store credit card issued by Synchrony Bank, which can come with special financing offers on qualifying purchases. Details are on Newegg.com.

Student, military, teacher, senior & other discounts

As of September 2026, Newegg does not officially offer a standing student, military, teacher or senior discount program. Your best alternatives are the free Newegg+ membership, EggPoints and seasonal sales events.

Price matching & price adjustments

Newegg matches only its own prices. If an item sold and shipped by Newegg drops in price on Newegg.com within 7 calendar days of your purchase, you can ask customer service for the difference, which is issued as a Newegg Customer Care card valid for 365 days.

Newegg does not match Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target or manufacturer websites. Bundles, clearance items, holiday event prices such as Black Friday, items with promotions, rebates or coupons, and open-box or refurbished products are excluded. During FantasTech, Newegg has offered a separate price protection promise for early shoppers, so read the event terms.

Payment options

• Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club and UnionPay.
• Digital wallets: PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paze.
• Buy now, pay later: Affirm (monthly installments) and Progressive Leasing (lease-to-own).
• Newegg options: Newegg store credit card, Newegg gift cards and EggPoints.
• Crypto: Bitcoin and other supported digital currencies through BitPay.

When Newegg has its biggest sales

• FantasTech (summer): Newegg's annual summer tech sale, which kicked off June 22 in 2026. A second FantasTech event has run in early October in recent years.
• Back-to-school (July–August): Laptops, monitors and peripherals for students.
• Black Friday and Cyber Monday (November): Typically the broadest discounts on components, TVs and gaming gear.
• New product launches: Prices on previous-generation CPUs and GPUs often fall once new hardware arrives.

Event dates vary from year to year, so treat these as typical windows rather than guarantees.

How to use a Newegg promo code

1. Sign in to your Newegg account (required for EggPoints and Newegg+ perks).
2. Add the item to your cart on the website or the Newegg app.
3. Enter the code in the promo code box in your cart and click Apply.
4. Confirm the discount in the order summary before checking out.

Many codes are limited to specific products, Newegg+ members or the mobile app. Codes usually don't work on marketplace listings unless stated, and one code per item is the norm.
